

Ferris Harvey Lander, a resident of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, passed away Sunday, September 3rd at the age of 67 after a difficult struggle with cancer. Son of Stanley and Shirley Lander, Ferris was born in Brooklyn and raised on Long Island, where he met his wife Terri. They married and moved to Virginia, where Ferris was a Primary Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office for more than 25 years. In addition Terri and Ferris ran an interior design business. Thereafter, they relocated to south Florida where Ferris spent his professional career focused on patent prosecution. Ferris will be best remembered for his outgoing, thoughtful and generous personality, not to mention his humor. He would do anything for anyone that needed him. He enjoyed boating, fishing, biking and the NY Yankees. He leaves behind his beloved wife Terri, a daughter Melissa (Matthews), her husband Blake, a daughter Jennifer, her husband Michael, two grandsons, Fredrick and Patrick, and a brother, Lloyd.
Services will be held at Star of David Funeral Home, 9321 Memorial Park Road, West Palm Beach, FL 33412 on Wednesday at 2:30pm. The family will be sitting shiva at the Lander home in Palm Beach Gardens on Wednesday immediately following the funeral, Thursday from 3-9 pm, and again on Friday between 2-6 pm. In Ferris’s memory, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
