

Lenore Zake (June 27, 1930) passed away October 2, 2022 in South Palm Beach, FL at the age of 92. She was the beloved wife of Lawrence Zake (d. 10/13/2002), daughter of Anna and Lester Steiner, sister of Albie (Rollie Romanoff) and mother of Yamuna Ivonne Zake and Michelle Williams, grandmother of Arielle (Nico) Nobile, and Lana Williams, (Aaron Gladstone), and Yael Zake Becker, and great grandmother of Maia Lucia, Leo, Marley and Baby Gladstone.
Lenore spent the last thirty years of her life living in Palm Beach, Florida. Lenore traveled the world, first with Lawrence, and then into her late 80s with her daughters, going all the way to India for several years in a row. She loved learning about new cultures, customs, and meeting people along the way.
She was a strong, independent thinker and outspoken about the importance of women’s rights. She marched with her daughter Michelle in Washington DC in the 2000’s for women’s rights.
She was very involved in community affairs and the annual South Palm Beach Art Show. She was active and volunteered with United Way.She was instrumental in fighting for dog owners rights. She will be greatly missed by all including her rescue dog Shadow who was named that because he followed her everywhere. In her last year she was fortunate to have amazing caregivers to meet her needs. There will be a memorial service at the Barclay 3546 S.Ocean Blvd Palm Beach in late January 2023.
