Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Rose and Nathan Leon, Marion graduated from Dobbins High School and attended University of Pennsylvania, Dental School where she trained as a dental hygienist. After marrying Sol Beck, the couple moved to Long Island, New York, where Marion worked as a dental hygienist and office manager for a respected practice in Plainview.
Marion was deeply committed to her family and faith. She is survived by her loving husband, Solomon Beck; her daughters Eilene Beck (fiancé Cory Schiffman), Rochelle (Mark Horowitz) Beck and Gloria (Paul) Graham; grandchildren Daniel Grunberg, Elana Grunberg, Joshua Grunberg, and Jonathan Beck; and sisters Helen (Paul) Gendler and Penny (Ted) Glackman.
She was known for her warmth, generosity, and tireless dedication to Jewish education and community service. Marion ensured her daughters received a strong Jewish and academic foundation, sending them to Solomon Schechter Day School and encouraging their pursuit of higher education. She led by example, instilling values of faith, kindness, civic responsibility, and love for Israel.
Marion held numerous leadership roles, including:
• Auxiliary President of Jewish War Veterans Post 691 of Great South Bay, Long Island
• President of the Sisterhood at Bethpage Jewish Community Center
• President of the PTA at both the Hebrew Academy of Nassau County and Solomon Schechter Day School of Long Island
She also served twice as a volunteer on Israeli army bases through Sar-El, reflecting her deep commitment to the Jewish homeland.
A gifted knitter and crocheter, Marion generously shared her talents with others. Her home was always open to family and friends, especially on Shabbat and Jewish holidays, where she created a warm and welcoming space filled with tradition and love.
Marion and Sol lived in Monroe Township New Jersey for over 20 years where they were involved with the Chabad Jewish Center of Monroe. They were snowbirds in West Palm Beach, where they became active members of Anshe Sholom Synagogue in Century Village and later Temple Beth El of West Palm Beach.
Marion Beck’s legacy continues on through the lives she touched, the values she upheld, and the love she gave so freely.
