

Nathan Tanen, age 92, died on August 14 at his home. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Tanen and his sons, Jeffrey (Natalie), Harry (Franny), and Joel (Helene). He was predeceased by his brother, Melvin, his sister, Jessie, and his parents, Rose and Harry Tanen. Nathan was born in Lynn, Ma., and moved his family to central Florida in 1955 to establish Tanen Construction. His brother Melvin joined him and they were builders of quality home communities. His sons, Harry and Joel maintain his tradition in Palm Beach. Nathan and Barbara loved to travel and maintained close friendships both locally and in Israel and England. Together they were supporters of the Jewish Federation and Morse Geriatric facility. Their long marriage and loving relationship was a thing of beauty. Nathan had incredible determination and endurance in the face of great odds. His strength, honesty and warm personality will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Jill Tanen Kuhn (Jordan). Brian Tanen, Robert Tanen (Meredith), Erica Tanen, Shayna Tanen, and great grandchildren, Emmy, Reid and Micah. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Aug., 16, at 9:30 A.M. at I.J. Morris Star of David, 9321 Memorial Park Road, West Palm Beach. Shiva will be in the family home immediately after the funeral. Donations can be made to the Jewish Federation of the Palm Beaches.
