Roberta Levine passed away on her 71st birthday, February 28, 2017, very soon after she heard the sounds of happy birthday being sung through the air. A quiet, petite mother of three daughters Karen, Nicole, and Michelle, two step-daughters Judy and Robin, and two step-sons Jeff and Michael, she leaves behind three grandchildren and one great grandchild. A devoted wife to Edward Levine, with whom she celebrated 36 years of marriage, she had a huge heart. She loved her dogs, reading, sewing, fitness, dining out, music, movies, watching game shows, and shopping. An extremely hard worker, though she faced many challenges with her health, she continued to do her accounting and bookkeeping projects until she absolutely couldn’t anymore, proving the work ethic she always had. She raised her family in West Hartford, CT, lived in Pennsylvania to be near her husbands family, before moving to Florida, to be close to two of her daughters. She leaves behind many relatives who loved her deeply including her sister Sharon and brother Harvey along with their families, and she will see her sister Rose and her parents Freda and Abraham in heaven.
In Judaism, it is considered a blessing to die on one’s birthday, as Moses did. Exodus (23:21) states that G d calculates and completes the lifespan of a righteous person, and that on the day we are born, we are entrusted with a mission. Once a righteous person lives his life achieving his fullest potential and completes his mission on earth, they will pass on, in the most perfect way possible: with the mission ending the very same day that it had begun. Roberta will truly be honored and missed by all.
