Alfonso “Sonny” Castaneda, IV passed away on March 5, 2013 in Houston, TX. He was born on February 12, 1983 in Pasadena, TX to Alfonso Castaneda, III and Rosie Dominguez. Sonny is survived by his father, Alfonso Castaneda, III and wife Blanca; mother, Rosie Dominguez-Walker and husband Tommy; paternal grandparents, Alfonso Castaneda, Jr. and wife Sara Lilia; maternal grandmother, Agustina Dominguez; sister, Geralyn Hagler and her husband James; 2 beloved nephews; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Luis Dominguez. Sonny was a video game enthusiast and an avid online game player. He liked reading on the subjects of history, science, and science fiction. He was known for being bright and knowledgeable on many subjects. He was talkative and never met a stranger. In addition to enjoying movies, he loved cooking and eating good food.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 10, 2013, from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Grand View Funeral Home. Services will be on Monday, March 11, 2013, at 12:30 P.M. in The Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home. A cremation will follow at a later date.
