Althea Diane Brocken Perry was 79 when she peacefully passed away on morning of Thursday, April 1, 2021, in Texas City. She has a long life, she was born and raised in Houston, Texas on August 20, 1941 to Joseph Brocken Sr. and Gwendolyn Thomas. Althea’s jobs in life included phone operator, an account receivable clerk for many years, an administrative assistant at multiple companies and Continuing Education clerk at San Jacinto College before retiring.
If you meet her, you were blessed. Althea had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh, she was the neighborhood Mom and Gram to all the kids on the block. She was a good wife and a good Mom, and Gram to everyone.
Althea told her family and friends every time she talked to them, she loved them she always wanted her people to know that they were loved. As a family we have had many laughs and many lives of adventures as she the chapters of her life. She was that person who said let’s stop and read every historical site because we need to see what we will learn, being a Mom and Gram, a mom taxi, camping mom, trips to the zoo and museum, sitting on the hill at Miller Outdoor to watch plays and musicals, going junking, sports support mom, rock, stamp and coin collector, taking trips to look at blue bonnets, and especially trips to the beach.
She has left behind a loving family, her brother and his wife, Joseph Brocken Jr and Jeanne Brocken, her daughters Allison Vickery-Fowle, Cathie Dods, her son Thomas Perry and his wife Casey Perry her grandchildren Matthew Dods and his wife Jeanette Dods, Brian Dods and his wife Devin Dods, Nicholas Fowle and his girlfriend Sierra Chittenden, Victoria Fowle, Ariel Perry and Trinity Perry, her great grandchildren Logan Dods, Arabella Dods, Luke Dods, Harper Dods, and Farah Fox.
She will be missed greatly. She will always be our "Sun Shine."
