Annie Pauline “Polly” Dolinger, having celebrated her 100th birthday, went home to meet her Maker, Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 3, 2017. She was born in Sylva, NC on May 2, 1917 to the late John Arthur Love and Veannie Virginia Liner Love and predeceased by her loving husband, Lloyd Wiley “Jack” Dolinger. She was the oldest of seven sisters and three brothers. She grew up in Crewe, VA where her father worked for the railroad. As a young woman Polly moved to Washington, D.C. where she met Jack around the boarding house table. She became a clerk typist for the Navy Department. After Jack was safely returned home from the Pacific theater, she devoted herself to home and family, keeping her promise to her Lord, raising a son and daughter. They built their home in Oxon Hill, MD where Polly lived until 2003 when she moved to Pasadena, TX to live with her daughter and husband. Polly was an avid Washington Redskins fan, gardener, and Sunday School teacher for many years. Her roses and peonies were picture perfect. She and Jack were charter members of Congress Heights Baptist Church. She was a proud member of Jane Long Chapter, DAR and Archives Chapter #1095, OES. In recent years, she attended St. Constantine and Helen Orthodox Church in Galveston, TX. Above all, Polly was a most pious, God loving woman who exemplified every day of her long life that we “love one another.”
