Arlene C Caler

Arlene Cornelia Gilbert Caler was born November 7, 1929 in Guernsey, Ark. She married the love of her life, Imon Caler, on January 6, 1951. Their family grew to include 2 daughters and 1 son before Imon passed away in 1964.

Arlene was employed by Houston Natural Gas in 1967 and worked there until retirement in 1987. After retiring, she became an avid Astros fan. She enjoyed gardening, painting, remodeling her home, watching Astros games, and most importantly, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and eventually great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by husband Imon Caler, parents Ideal and G.W. Gilbert, and sister LaVerne Holcomb.

Arlene is survived by her daughter Rhonda Boehm and husband Robert, son Gary Caler, and daughter Brenda Anderson and husband Kevin, 7 grandchildren and their families, including 13 great-grandchildren, special niece Linda Sykes and husband John, and numerous other nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Arlene will be held Friday, September 1, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM and funeral service will occur Friday, September 1, 2023 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505. There will be no graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, Arlene requested donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, or Shriner's Hospital for Children.

The family would like to thank the staff at Sylvan Shores Health & Wellness Center for their kindness during Arlene's last weeks.
