October 25, 1970 – July 19, 2025
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Belinda Kay Barfield on July 19, 2025, at the age of 54. A beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Belinda left a last impact on all who knew her.
Belinda was born on October 25, 1970, in Pasadena, TX where she was raised and attended Sam Rayburn high School. She later moved to La Porte, TX, where she built a home and a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Belinda was a devoted mother to her children: Corey Williams and his children, Chayce and Chevy; Travis Williams and his children, Kayden and Elias; Summer Piersol and her husband Briley; and Bryson Scovel Wood and his wife Makayla. She was a sister to Susan Matthews, and a loving aunt to her nephew, Patrick Blankenship, and niece, Gabriella Blankenship along with a large circle of cousins, nieces, and nephews. She also shared a special bond with her best friend, Velinda Shirley, who she loved dearly.
Belinda was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Scovel, her father, Rex Scovel, and her brother, Allen Redding. She is now reunited with them in peace.
Known for her nurturing spirit and warm heart, Belinda was a constant source of strength, kindness, and support to those she loved. Her sense of humor and playful spirit was always able to bring a smile to those around her, no matter the circumstances. She was a bright light in the lives of her family and friends, and her memory will be treasured forever.
In addition to her family, she leaves behind countless friends who will miss her laughter, her wisdom, and her unwavering love. Her legacy lives on in her children and grandchildren, who will carry her spirit in their hearts forever.
Rest in peace, Belinda. You will forever be loved and missed.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 29th at 9:00 AM at First Baptist church in Crosby.
