Betty Lou Taylor Wood, 88, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016 in Clear Lake, Texas. She was born on September 14, 1927 in Cisco, Texas to Pierce Taylor and Beatrice Taylor. Betty worked as a church secretary and the as a school secretary until she retired. She married Marshall Wood on April 11, 1947.
Betty is survived by her loving husband of 68 years Marshall, her daughter Sandy Broughton, grandchildren Matt Broughton and wife Jill, Andy Broughton and fiancée Chaundra Hugel, and Meredith Broughton, great grandchildren Kaley Broughton and Alyssa Broughton, brother Gary Taylor and wife Carol, and niece Cathryn Taylor. She was predeceased by her parents, Pierce and Bea Taylor and her son-in-law, Jim Broughton. Betty loved her Lord and Savior, her family, music, square dancing, and playing bridge. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who was greatly loved and will be so deeply missed. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Grand View Funeral Home, with a graveside service to start at 12:00pm at Grand View Memorial Park in Pasadena, Texas with Reverend Steve Oglesbee officiating.
