Claudia “Charlene” Smith Rust Whaley, 79 of Deer Park, Texas went to her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 23, 2021. She was born February 27, 1941 in Red Lick, Mississippi to Charles Dallas and Versie Lena (Johnson) Smith. She was a Christian lady who volunteered with children’s church. She enjoyed photography and flowers in the spring time; especially the bluebonnets, magnolias and purple iris. She truly loved her family, being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She retired from Fort Bend ISD after 10 years of service.
She is survived by her daughter, Lana Stegall; her son, Kenneth Rust and wife Pam; 10 grandchildren, Meghan Stegall, Shelbi Howard and husband Jazz, Kaci Rust, Zachary Pilkington and wife Samantha, Phillip Petit-Rust, Dylan Rust and wife Kristen, Collin Stegall, Ryan Pilkington, Makenna Laird and husband Colton and Brenna Rust; great-grandchildren, Logan Lara, Haley Howard and Kyzen Chachere; and her 2 sisters Inice Daniel and Betty Baber along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Lori Pilkington and son-in-law Dennis.
