

Don Edward Valentine, Sr. passed away unexpectedly on July 31, 2015 in Webster, Texas at the age of 71 years old. Don was born on September 3, 1943 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Saunders Fitzpatrick and Gladys Valentine.
Don graduated from Vinton High School in 1961 and went to work at American Bridge in Orange, Texas as a shipyard welder. He later moved to Allied Industries as a draftsman and supervisor for 25 years. He completed his career with Shaw Group as a Vessel Design Supervisor, when he retired in 2012. He was an avid drummer throughout his life. He loved all kinds of music and playing his drums as a member of various bands over the years. He enjoyed the ocean and fishing in Galveston Bay with his wife and later in life, he found a passion for exercising, including biking and roller skating. He was a kind, sweet husband and father and cared for his dogs as if they were royalty.
Don is survived by his three children, daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and David Boren of Friendswood, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Don II and Araceli Valentine of Pearland, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Will Laughlin of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, Erin Boren, Kristen Boren, Heather Valentine, Cole Fitch, Riley Laughlin; and two sisters and their husbands, Marla and Bruce Holland and Angela and Charles Mallet. Don is preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Nancy Kay Valentine.
All services will be held at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas 77505. Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 5, 2015, from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 6, 2015, at 11:00 am.
All are welcome to attend the celebration of Don’s life.
