

Dorothy Marie Leskowski (Polarski) most recently of League City, Texas passed away peacefully in Pasadena, Texas on December 13, 2022. Dorothy was born December 22, 1924, the daughter of Casimir and Sophie Polarski. She was raised in Philadelphia and was the last surviving sibling of Al, Eddie,Tommy, Robert, Regina, Helen, Eleanor and Loretta. She married Stephen Leskowski there on September 1, 1951. She enjoyed family get-togethers, traveling and spending time at their second home, a farm in Dushore, Pennsylvania. During their marriage, she lived in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada; Amersham, England and finally Nassau Bay, Texas in 1974. Although divorced in 1977, Dorothy and Steve remained friends until his death in 1996. She remained in Texas, residing in Nassau Bay, Webster, and League City.
Dorothy was devoted, and especially close to her only son Bruce, and wife Joyce. She doted over her granddaughter, Dana Leskowski and great-grandchildren, Ethan and Anna Mikel. Close to her heart were son-in-law Chris Mikel, step-granddaughter Sheila Morales, surviving brother-in-law Jack Emery, goddaughter Janet Fitzgibbon and dear friend Margret Ayot. Beloved aunt of: Ed Polarski, Marge Petaccio, Joe Szymanski, Mark Szymanski, Ellen Kramer, Joyce Molter, Greg Wade, Janet Lagowski, Nancy Emery, John Emery, Richard, Gary and Bruce Nevitt and Barbara Herrmann. Joined in heaven by Karen Szymanski, Walter (Sonny) Malik, Diane Malik and Stevie Wade.
Dorothy lived life to the fullest, was kind, loving, generous and never complained; always helping anyone that asked. She was a meticulous dresser, enjoyed gardening, cooking and game shows. In her later life she would never miss an episode of Perry Mason and Wheel Of Fortune. Most of her life was spent as a mother and housewife, although after her divorce she worked in retail at the lingerie department of Palais Royal in Clear Lake, Texas, for 15 years, being fondly remembered by all of her customers.
Celebration of her life will be held at Grandview Funeral Home in Pasadena, Texas on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Internment will be in Philadelphia at St. Dominic Church and Cemetery on April 12, 2023 at 10:00 AM. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.dignitymemorial.com.
