Edith married her lifelong love, Derrall Harris in 1947. They moved from Oklahoma to Borger, Texas in 1948 in pursuit of a job opportunity. Then in 1953, they were transferred and moved their young family to
Pasadena Texas .
Edith’s fulltime job was being a housewife and mother. After her children were grown and out of the house, Edith was able to pursue some of the things she enjoyed. She joined the hospital ministry in her
church and received her ministry license, took up painting and became an artist selling some of her paintings. She filled her later years taking cruises, playing electronic games on her phone and iPad, socializing on Facebook and researching her family genealogy. She always looked forward to going back to Oklahoma for her cousins’ annual reunions.
