

Edna Earl Goodman, a beloved and kind-hearted soul, passed away on November 28, 2025, at the age of 99. Born on October 31, 1926, in Cross, Texas, she was the cherished daughter of Lester Guy Burney and Velma Ray Burney. A long-time resident of Deer Park, Texas, Edna was known for her warmth and generosity to all who knew her.
Edna shared 25 wonderful years of marriage with Cuthrel (Benny) Goodman. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Odis Chappell, her husband Benny Goodman, her son Michael Chappell, her daughter Sandra Klimczak, and four sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her daughters, Libby Blasdel and Carole Davidson, 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom lovingly called her Mimi.
Edna had a passion for reading and puzzles, and she was a great cook, known especially for her pecan pie, turkey, and dressing. Her contributions extended beyond her family, as she was a devoted member of the Deer Park Church of Christ, the church her family helped to found.
A visitation will be held at Grand View Funeral Home, located at 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas, on December 8, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 pm, also at Grand View Funeral Home. The committal service will take place at Grand View Memorial Park at 3:00 pm.
Edna Earl Goodman will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
