He joined the Houston Police Department on September 25, 1950. He retired on July 10, 1980, while assigned to the Jail Division. After retirement, he was an antique glass dealer for a number of years. "Ed" was a loving husband, father and grandfather and loyal friend to many. He will be greatly missed.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents Chester Holiday and Evelyn Capps Holiday; his wife Dorothy Sheffield Holiday; brother Albert Richardson; sister Pauline Lamentola; and son-in-law Ronald Rather. He is survived by his daughters, Linda Holiday, and Brenda Rather; grandson, Brian Holiday and his wife Monica; brother Ansol Holiday and his wife Lucy; nieces, nephews, and many other beloved family and friends. The family would like to give a special thank you to Donna Vandargriff and all of his other caregivers.
The visitation will take place on Friday, September 9, 2016, 6:00-9:00 pm at Grand View Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 1:00 pm also at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway Pasadena, Texas 77505. Burial will follow at Grand View Memorial Park.
