To Pamela, Kenneth and Cappy's extended family.  Although I never met Cappy, I always heard Pamela speak so fondly of her and from all the pictures that are shared, I can see she was truly a wonderful lady. She is now in a place more beautiful than we can imagine, with no more pain.  I know you will all miss her deeply. May your wonderful memories give you comfort during this time.

To the family---I am a 1st cousin of Catherine (Victor Maxwell's middle daughter). I was sad to hear about Catherine's passing, but it's a comfort to know that God is taking care of her and she's finally at peace after all she has gone through recently. It's been many years since I have seen her, but spoke to her on the phone a few times.

Cappy Maxwell was my sister,friend,and confidant for more than 30yrs. She welcomed my daughter,Kathy and me into the family when I married her brother, Billy, in Sept.1979.In Oct. that same year August Lee was born, Cappy and Mr.Max were the first to visit. I learned alot from Cappy through the years, so much it would be a never ending story,But the greatest was unconditional love,and faith in God.I will miss you until we meet again.

We can't talk about Cappy without talking about the Maxwell family.  Our father Merris, was her brother and her parents Elza and Helen were our grandparents.  

Shortly after Linda's birth in 1951, the Maxwell family opened wide their hearts and home to three little girls whose mother was unable to care for them.  Cappy was there.  When our father died in 1962, the Maxwells continued to provide the love and support children need when losing a parent.  Cappy was there.  Helen was like our mother while growing up and when she died in 1973, Cappy was there to fill that enormous hole.  When Elza became ill Cappy was there and retired in 1981 to care for him until his death in 1987. 

Cappy was there for all of the important and not so important life events that would follow.  For all practical purposes she was the Maxwell grandmother to our children.  Happily Cappy and our grandfather, Elza, were there when Tiffanie, Jesse and Gared were born and attended all the obligatory birthday, school and childhood functions without wavering.  Being the remaining elder of the Maxwell clan she was even there for the birth and life of her great niece Madison.  Cappy was there for our families important life events up until shortly before her death.  It was a gift we will all treasure.

A tribute to Cappy cannot be paid without paying tribute to the Maxwell family.  We could not have asked for a better family to be part of when one was so obviously needed.  In Deer Park the Maxwells were well known for their service to the community and less known for the sacrifices they all made on behalf of those three little girls.

It was the care, love and selflessness Cappy gave to our grandparents in their remaining years that provided the beacon used for her care.  She deserved nothing less and certainly deserved better.   

It is with enormous pride and privilege that we were fortunate enough to love and care for her in the way she and our grandparents so lovingly cared for us.  She will no doubt be remembered and celebrated for the best aunt a family could have!
