

Mrs. Hathorn was born on October 16, 1926 in Anderson County, TX to Onia B. Denny Ruby and Frank H. Ruby. She is preceded in death by her husband Wilmer M. Hathorn, her parents and her sister EvaNelle Ruby. Mrs. Hathorn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a stay at home Mom raising four children before she began her career. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Hathorn was a wonderful cook and seamstress. She made her own patterns and sewed for herself, daughters, and grandchildren. She worked at Parkview Intermediate School for over 35 years. While at Parkview, over 20 years of her service was as cafeteria manager. Mrs. Hathorn was known for ‘catering’ to everyone’s needs, making the coaches favorite cookies, for instance. She is survived by her four children, Carolyn Sue Hathorn Lisenbee, Mike Hathorn, Kenneth Hathorn, and Pam Hathorn; her son-in-law Lowell (Butch) Lisenbee; Pam’s significant other Jerry Bowen; her six grandchildren: Angela Hathorn, Brian Lisenbee, Travis Hathorn, Melissa Hathorn Pleasant and husband Stephen Pleasant, Amanda Lisenbee, and Martee Hathorn; and two great children: Kendall Pleasant and Stephen (Sugar Man) Pleasant V. She is also survived by her siblings, Milford Ruby and Ouida Ruby Ward. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 5PM to 8PM at Grand View Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 12PM at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells, Texas.
