Hellen Elaine Schneider was born as Hellen Elaine Jones, on 4/12/1948 in Borger, Texas where she lived until 1954 when her family moved to Pasadena, Texas. She was preceded in death by her father Harold Dorman Jones, her step-father James W. Hodson and her mother Betty Ruth Hodson. She is survived by her daughter, Christina Lynn Faz, her son-in-law Richard Edmond Faz, grandchildren Richard Edmond Faz, II, Jessica Elaine Faz, Amanda Kay Faz, Justin Gilbert Faz and Thomas Isaiah Faz, son Travis Wayne Schneider, sister Linda Carol Leonhardt and niece Elaine Decaussin.
Hellen graduated from Deer Park High School in 1966 in Deer Park, Texas. After graduation, she was a wife and mother of two children, Christina and Travis, while she was married to Larry Gilbert Schneider for 15 years. She then owned and operated her own janitorial business and at the time of her passing, she was a successful breeder of miniature dachshunds.
She lived in Pasadena, Texas while she was married and then in Huffman, Texas for the remainder of her life.
She enjoyed watching Joel Osteen every Sunday on the television and encouraged anyone else to do the same if they didn’t want to leave their house to attend a church.
One of the most important things she believed was that “Every cloud has a silver lining”. She encouraged everyone to always look for the good in every situation, no matter how bad it seemed to be. Hellen shared her abundant love and positive attitude with everyone around her and she is considered by many of her close friends and neighbors to be like a “2nd mom” to them.
Her love of life and positive attitude will be missed by everyone but her teachings and influence will carry on in everyone she touched whether you saw her once a week at Walmart or the Vet Clinic or if you were one of the lucky ones who were fortunate enough to spend your entire life with her.
The family will receive friends Friday, September 6, 2019 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Grand View Funeral Home 8501 Spencer Hwy Pasadena, Texas 77505. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel.
