Homer (Pete) Wells, Jr. passed away on September 20, 2021. He was born on August 31, 1936 in Kopperl, Texas to parents Homer Wells, Sr. and Ollie Wells. Homer was the third of four children and attended Valley Mills High School and North Texas State.
Homer served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1963. He married Patricia Shotwell on December 29, 1967 and became an instant father to her three boys, later adopting them as well as his niece. His marriage and the adoption of his four children were his proudest accomplishment. Homer began a career with Sinclair / ARCO in 1956, retiring in 1985 after 29 years of service. Homer was a member of South Main Baptist church in Pasadena, Texas.
After retiring, he was actively involved in the hospital visitation program at South Main Baptist church. This was something he truly enjoyed doing. Homer was also a Mason, 32nd Degree and spent time participating in the numerous activities within the organization. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing, dancing and fast pitch softball.
Homer was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His family will miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Doris Burt and brother Doyle Wells. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia Wells; sons Wesley Wells and wife Sandra, John Wells and wife Brenda, Michael Wells and wife Kim; daughter Lori Brown and husband David; granddaughters Annette Wells, Amanda Boone, Candice Miller, and Brittany Molder; and grandson Mitchell Wells; five great grandchildren; brother Joe Ross Wells and wife Cynthia; and many nieces, nephews and special friends Richard Garland and Ron Martin.
Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Blank, Harold Stephens, Kenneth Lutes, David Brown, Dale Tribble and Mitchell Wells.
