

Jo Reda Simpson Gremillion was born on February 26, 1929 and went to be with her Lord on January 4, 2016. She was the daughter of Willy and Grace Simpson, and was born near Delight, Arkansas. She graduated from Delight High School and later moved to Houston, Texas. She worked for Finger Furniture Co. and Gulf Oil. During this time, she met and married Maurice Gremillion. She became a mother and a homemaker. She was an excellent seamstress and a wonderful cook. She shared her talents with friends and family for many years. She later went to work for H.I.S.D. as a cashier in the elementary schools. She left this position to take care of her aging parents. She eventually “retired” with Maurice, and they spent many active years together. They were married for over 50 years. She was under Hospice care the last few months of her life, and passed away at home in the loving arms of her family. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Sharlon and Jimmy Davis; grandchildren Michelle and Christian Clem, Hope and Kevin Carmichael; great grandchildren Jackson Clem and Faith Carmichael. She is also survived by her sister Dessa Fenter; brother’s Gene and Elvin Simpson; numerous family members and friends. She will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held at Grand View Funeral Home on Friday, January 8, 2016 from 12:00 P.M. -2:30 P.M., with Funeral services beginning at 2:30 P.M. with Barry Day and Charles Davis officiating.
