Joe Sabas Sanchez

Joe Sabas Sanchez, 71 of La Porte, Texas was born November 30, 1950 in McAllen, Texas to Ernesto and Natalia (Palomares) Sanchez and passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022 in Houston, Texas. Joe was an amazing father and grandfather, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved Galveston he loved telling stories of growing up in Galveston, he enjoyed being by the water and fishing when he was able. He loved riding his bike and stopping to talk to anyone. He was a charismatic man and made friends easily. He was also a giving person and would give blood to help others. He was also a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in La Porte.

Survived by his daughter Angela Fox, son Joseph and wife Jackie Sanchez; their mother Christine Casler; grandchildren Zoe Fox and fiancée Zac Lottermoser, Zen Simpson, Kylie Fox, and Lily Sanchez; his sisters Amparo and Mary Sanchez and nephew Gregory Sanchez; and many other family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter Sonja Sue Sanchez; his brothers Filiberto "Felix", Ernesto, and Rudolpho "Rudy" Sanchez.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at St Mary's Catholic Church in LaPorte (816 Park Dr. 77571) with visitation at 9:00am and mass promptly following at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Grand View Memorial Park Cemetery (8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, Tx 77505).

Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Fitch, Darrell Lewis, Gregory Sanchez, Zen Simpson and Tanner Doiron.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Cancer Association in Joe’s name.

A visitation for Joe will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 816 Park Dr, La Porte, TX 77571. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 816 Park Dr, La Porte, TX 77571. A committal service will occur Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505.
