

Joe Albert Velazquez, 87, of Pasadena, TX, passed away on October 9, 2025. He was born in San Marcos, TX, on January 8, 1938, to Sam and Angelita “Nena” Velazquez. Joe was married to Benita Velazquez for 41 years. Joe was married to Dora Velazquez for 26 years.
Joe had a distinguished career in purchasing for Armco Steel and also was the owner of Albert-Kelly Printing. Joe faithfully served in the US Army. He was an esteemed member of the South-Houston Masonic Lodge as an Endowed Lifetime Member and had a deep passion for golf, dancing, and his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Nena Velazquez; brother, Robert Velazquez; sisters-in-law, Eula Velazquez (Beula) and Judy Weigand (Pooty); brother-in-law, J.B. Goolsby; and his first wife of 41 years, Benita Velazquez.
Joe is survived by his wife of 26 years, Dora Velazquez; sister, Mary Ann “Mimi” Goolsby; brothers, Larry Velazquez and wife Carolina and Donald Velazquez and wife Billie; daughters, Desiree Dillard and husband Mark, Denee Velazquez-Murillo and husband Phillip, Linda Garza and husband Abnner; son, Gabriel Vela and wife Jessica. He also leaves behind granddaughters, Hillary Hankins and husband Dustin, D’Lana Cruz and husband Joe, Taylor Gilcrease and husband Colby, Mia Vela and fiance Weston Rogers; and great-grandchildren, Karis, Joei, Ty, Journey, Joey, Gray, Athena, Levi, Micah, Peyton, and Walker Joe, along with aunt Eva Sanchez, countless cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
