John Alan Wilkinson died peacefully on January 1, 2019 in Baytown, Texas after a difficult battle with cancer.
The memorial service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2019 at 11:00 am at LaPorte Community Church.
John was born on January 26, 1952 in Abilene, Texas to Billy Mack Wilkinson and Rosemarie Ramsey Wilkinson. He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his loving wife Vallie Crawford; mother, Rosemarie Hamon; his sisters Kathlene Kilgore and husband Kyle Kilgore, Sandra Duree and husband Tim Duree, and Lora Farley; his son, Billy Dixon Wilkinson; his daughter, Wrendy Marie Oseguera and husband Daniel Oseguera; his grandchildren, Grayson Etheridge, Travis Wilkinson, Shannon Wilkinson, Richard Oseguera, Maribel Oseguera, Miguel Oseguera, and Carlos Oseguera as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
John served in the Navy before having a family of his own. He was known as a free spirit always looking for the best in life. John loved being in large open spaces, fulfilling his inner cowboy. That spirit took him from Texas to Montana, California and Arizona before returning to Texas in 2002 knowing that his best life was near family. John’s children were is pride and joy.
John will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends.
