

Johnny Henry Timmons, Sr., 79 of League City, passed away October 4, 2025. He was born in Levita, TX on April 27, 1946 to Wiley Lewis Timmons and Mary Ella Laing Timmons. Johnny was married to his beloved wife, Caren Sue Timmons for 51 years. He was a proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather who cherished his family deeply. He loved attending his family events and was always an enthusiastic participant of special occasions and birthday celebrations. You could always count on receiving one of his big, unforgettable hugs.
He was a member of the VFW Post 291 and had a lifelong passion for hunting, fishing, and riding his many Harley-Davidson’s. After retiring 20 years ago, he was able to devote more of his time to riding his motorcycles and to enjoying the outdoors. He also took great joy in traveling to watch his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play baseball, soccer, dance, showing livestock, and in visiting them in their home states and at their colleges. Johnny loved cooking for his family and his hunting group, and he was especially known for his famous Mexican breakfasts.
Johnny was the founder and owner of Bay Services Company, a successful excavation and site-preparation business, specializing in dirt work and home pad construction for local custom homebuilders. Before finding his calling in the dirt work industry, he worked as a tugboat captain, a truck driver for Central Freight Lines, and a bus driver for Kerrville bus lines. He proudly served in the United States Army including a tour in the Vietnam War, demonstrating the same courage and dedication that defined his life.
He is survived by his wife, Sue and his children, Johnny Jr. (Jessica), Wiley Sr., and Clarissa (John Gouldin). His grandchildren Wiley Jr., Tyler (Jaclyn), Christine (Nick Melchor), Cody, Garrett, Cooper (Meg), and Carson. His great-grandchildren, Everett, Harper, Tegan, Tatum, Kyler, Braylee, Trayson, Sammy, Koralyn, Taylor, Lexi, and Wiley Kyle. His brother, Bobby and his aunt, Cleo. He is also survived by cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews who will carry on his memory and the love he shared so freely.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wiley Lewis Timmons and mother, Mary Ella Martin and her husband, Samuel Ray Martin.
In honor of his service and in remembrance of all who have served, the family invites you to help honor our veterans this holiday season by sponsoring a wreath to be place on the gravesites of veterans in Houston, Texas. Donations may also be made to support veterans recovering from combat trauma at Camp Hope, through the PTSD Foundation of America - Houston Chapter.
Visitation will be held at Grand View Funeral Home, located at 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas, 77505, on October 18, 2025, from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm. A Celebration of Johnny's Life will begin at 2:30 pm. Immediately following, he will be laid to rest at Grand View Memorial Park.
