Joseph Andrew Mouton went on to be with our Lord, peacefully, surrounded by his family on January 12, 2022. Andy was born in Abbeville, Louisiana on June 11, 1940 to Eve Herlin Mouton and Joseph Avery Mouton. He is survived by his wife Donna Mouton and four siblings: Wayne Mouton, Larry Mouton and wife Dorothy, Floyd Mouton and wife Sue, and Phyllis Mouton; his children Stephanie Rene’ Mouton, Kenneth Avery Mouton and wife Tracy; his six grandchildren Cassidy Faith Gonzalez, Devan Avery Gibson, Crow Machajewski, Emma Jane Machajewski, Avery Ann Mouton, and Elaine Marie Mouton; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Andy graduated from La Porte High School in 1958. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1959 and was honorably discharged in 1965. He met the love of his life, Donna May Bowers, at Angel’s Diner in La Porte, Texas and they were married on August 29, 1964. They were happily married for 57 years and resided in Deer Park, Texas, where they raised their two children, Rene’ and Kenny. Andy retired from USI Chemicals as a Lab Technician, then went on to work for Aqua Solutions, post retirement, until 2009.
Andy loved vacationing with his family, which included skiing trips, camping trips, or sight-seeing road trips across the country. He enjoyed the outdoors, particularly fishing and hunting in Fredericksburg, Texas, with his son and friends. Andy could also be found playing the slots at the Casinos in Lake Charles, Louisiana or relaxing at home cheering on his Astros. But most of all, Andy loved spending time and supporting his grandchildren as often as possible. He never missed a competition, ball game, show, or event, and was happy to chauffer them around town upon request.
Andy will be remembered as a gracious, warm-hearted, devoted family man who would make any sacrifice for those he loved. He will be greatly missed.
