Joyce H. Jaggers

Joyce taught girls’ physical education and health in the Galena Park school system. She also coached softball, tennis, volleyball, and was a cheerleading sponsor.

She married Lee E. Jaggers on May 29, 1948 and was blessed with three children: Travis and his wife Tina; Carolyn and her husband Joe; Sandy and her husband Keith. They have eight grandchildren: Shannon Trejo and her husband Santos; Travis Oden and his wife Megan; David Oden and his wife Audra; Lindsay Evans and her husband Brian; Caleb Smith; Jared Smith and his wife Brittany; Tiffany and her husband Lincoln; Randy Shetter, Jr. (deceased). They have nine great grandchildren: April and Tessa Oden; Savannah, Garrett, and Chase Evans; Soleil, Jagger, and Christian Trejo; Landry Bedrich.

Joyce was a member of First Baptist Church in Pasadena, Texas for sixty six years. She served as a Sunday school teacher and faithfully served tea along with Lee during the Tuesday luncheons.

She retired from the Galena Park school system after teaching for twenty five years.

Joyce loved to do crafts and counted cross stitch and travel with Lee. They travelled all over the United States and to many countries.

Joyce was a faithful wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be dearly missed.

The family would like to thank their dedicated caregivers, Florence, Elizabeth, and Roseline. Also, a big thank you goes to IRP Home Health and Hospice and the doctors and nurses at Patient’s Hospital in Pasadena, Texas.
