

Karen A. Cofer passed away on October 22, 2012 at her home. Karen had battled advanced ovarian cancer for the previous 4 years, and is finally at peace and rest with her Lord. Karen was born on October 15, 1951 in Frankfort, MI to Clarence (deceased) and Teresa Miller. She is survived by David - her husband of 40 years - as well as children Melissa and Michael, and her granddaughter Kyra (Melissa’s daughter). Karen was a loving mother and wife. Her faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life, and she never missed an opportunity to share the hope and encouragement it gave her with those she met. She was also very active in support groups and fundraisers to benefit cancer survivors. Karen touched the lives of countless people through her involvement in the Relay for Life, the Pink Phurree Dragon Boat Racing, and the Prayer Shawl Ministry at her church. A Memorial Service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Pasadena, Texas on Friday, October 26 at 10:00am. A viewing will be offered at the church beginning at 9:00am. Zion Lutheran is located at 5050 E Sam Houston Pkwy S, Pasadena, Texas. Interment will follow at Grand View Memorial Park.
