Kathryn Boswell Jacobs

Kathryn Opelt Jacobs was born in Afton, Texas on March 13, 1931, to Odes Kincaid Boswell and Hattie Jewel Hassey Boswell. She was raised in Dumas, Texas where she married Thomas J. Jacobs on August 22, 1947. They lived in Dumas until the fall of 1965 when they moved to Pasadena, Texas and raised their five children. In 1985 they moved to Kenefick, Texas to have some land and live the quiet country life.

Kathryn is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Thomas J. Jacobs and her grandson, Joseph Brian Womack. She is survived by her five children, son, Tony Jacobs and wife Margaret; daughter, Judy McArthur and husband Jerry; son, John Jacobs and wife Shelly; daughter, Nancy Mathews and daughter, Wanda Jacobs. Her eleven grandchildren, Jason Womack, Lynn Jacobs, Chris Jacobs, Brian Jacobs, John Jacobs, Michael Jacobs, Jeremy Mathews, Amanda Wright, Tammy Vargas, Tracey Nissen and Michael McArthur. Also by 22 great-grandchildren, two sister-in-laws, Jean Vehaus and Peggy Boswell, numerous nieces and nephews, friends and loved ones.

Special thanks to Paramount Rehabilitation Nursing Home in Pasadena, Texas where she spent the last three years playing bingo and doing her crossword puzzles with her roommate and friend, Rose Boswell Williams with whom she shared many wonderful days.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 30, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Grand View Funeral Home. Services will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Grand View Memorial Park.
