Kenneth Elijah Stephens, 71, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away June 3, 2010 from complications due to Parkinson’s disease. Ken was born August 1, 1938 in Pineville, Louisiana to Elijah and Rebekah Stephens. After graduating from Bethany Nazarene College in 1962, Ken was a pastor in the Nazarene Church and preached revivals. Later in his life, Ken became an ordained Baptist minister.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Virginia Beller Stephens, two sons by a previous marriage, Paul Stephens of Garland, Texas and David Stephens of Cabot, Arkansas; two grandsons Spencer and Chandler Stephens of Garland, Texas, sisters, Yvonne Tuminello of Alexandria, Louisiana and Sandra Ann Owecki of Natchitoches, Louisiana, nephew Stephen Tuminello of Houston, Texas and niece Johnna Owecki of Alexandria, Louisiana.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 6, 2010 from 3:00-6:00PM at Grand View Funeral Home. His life will be celebrated, Monday, June 7, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Golden Acres Baptist Church, 2812 Pansy, Pasadena. He will be laid to rest Tuesday, June 8, 2010 in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
