Lynda Nell Jordan White departed this world on April 28th to be wrapped in the loving arms of her God.
Lynda was born October 13, 1938, to Olan Jordan and Maurice Blackman Jordan in Corsicana, Texas. Lynda lived and went to school in Lufkin, Texas through most of her school years. When she was in the tenth grade, her family moved to Conroe, where
she finished high school. She went on to Southwest Business School in Houston, earning an associate’s degree in Secretarial Studies.
Soon after school, she met and married her husband Ray and together they built a life that spanned nearly 68 years and raised a family. Lynda was artistically inclined and used her many talents to teach and entertain her children. She played the organ, sewed and crocheted, and baked amazing bread on rainy days.
After her youngest child started high school, Lynda felt a need to put her talents and energy to use outside of her home. In 1982 she began volunteering at what was then Bayshore Hospital and found a passion that would continue for the rest of her life. She became involved with the volunteer newsletter in 2005 and created the “This and That” page highlighting the milestones and achievements of the volunteers plus recipes and other items of interest.
Lynda is preceded in death by her parents Olan and Maurice Jordan and sister Lois Paddock.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Ewing Ray White and 6 children: Deborrah Lingerfelt and husband Jerry, Carl “Pete” White, Lyndon White and wife Deborah Jean, Roy White and wife Cherie, Cary White and wife Nancy and Tina Moore and husband Bobby.
