

Maria Ramona Vega, 79, of Pasadena, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast, Pasadena, Texas, on Friday, January 14th, 2022. Her laughter, sense of humor, and loving and caring for people, especially her family, will be sadly missed by all who loved her.
Ramona was born Thursday, December 31st, 1942, in Brownsville, Texas, to the late Ramon and Josefa (Valdez) Sosa. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Ramon Antonio Sosa and Ramon Sosa.
Ramona is survived by her loving husband Raul Vega, Sr. They were married on 01/16/1961. She is survived by her three loving sons, Raul Vega, Jr. (Cindy), of San Antonio, Texas, Ramon Vega, (Cindy), of Pasadena, Texas, and Omar Vega, (Dianne) of Deer Park, Texas. She is survived by her grandchildren Danielle Daisy Vega, Eric R. Vega (Jennifer), Vincent R. Vega (Madisson), Omar Vega, Jr. (Natalie), Xavier Vega, and Deanne Vega, and two great-grandchildren Omar Anthony Vega, Serena Vega. She is also survived by four step-grandchildren Destani DeLa Rosa (Juan Ariel), Larry Reyes II (Natalie), Julian Reyes, Stephen Acuna II, and eight step-great-grandchildren Brooke Sage, Daniel, Benjamin, Azrielle, Amara, Galia, Celise, and Camila Grace.
In addition, Ramona is survived by ten siblings: Maria “Bebe” Connie Amador (David), of Pasadena, Texas, Josie “Nena” Rojano (Ramon), of Brownsville, Texas, Elia Gonzalez of Houston, Texas, Clara “China” Salazar of Brownsville, Texas, Rosario “Charo” Caballero, of Bradenton, Florida, Maria “Quena” Rodriguez of Pasadena, Texas, Dolores “Loli” Hernandez (Esteban) of Pasadena, Texas, Blanca “Mimi” Lerma (Ramiro), of Sarasota, Florida, Jesus “Sonny” M. Sosa, of Pasadena, Texas and Maria Magdalena “Maggie” Navarro (Julio) of Kent, Washington. Also left to cherish her memory are her many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Ramona was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked for many years as an entrepreneur and ran her own tax business for almost 47 years. Ramona enjoyed being around family and gatherings, especially with her kids and grandkids. She would rather be with her family more than anywhere else.
The Vega family would like to give special thanks to the HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast, Pasadena, Texas staff, and AMED Community Hospice, who took great care of her in her final days of life.
