He was born July 30, 1947, in Houston, Texas, to Joe and Maria Socorro Bata and was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jimenez and brother Daniel Bata.
Natividad is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carmen Bata, son, Natividad Bata Jr; daughters, Christina Marie Gonzales, and Jessica Renee Vela; son-in-law, Raudel Tito Vela; daughter-in-law, Bertha Bata; grandchildren, Marissa Bata Rivera, Brianna Bata, Cristian Gonzales, Audriana Vela, Daniel Vela, Jacob Vela; and great grandchildren, Alayna, MiKaylah, Olivia, KaMilah, and a great grandson arriving soon. He is also survived by his brother, Joe Bata Jr.
“Popo” worked for over 38 years supporting his family, ultimately retiring from Albemarle. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who adored his family. He was always there for them and put them first above anything else. The only thing he loved more than cheering on the Dallas Cowboys was cheering for his grandkids in their extra-curricular activities.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505. A prayer service will follow at 7:00 PM.
A family and friend gathering will take place on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at St Hyacinth Catholic Church, 2921 Center St, Deer Park, TX 77536, followed by a celebration of Natividad's life at 1:00 PM. A committal service will then be held at 3:00 PM at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060.
Natividad Enrique Bata Sr. will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to family will forever be cherished in the hearts of those he leaves behind. May he rest in peace.
