

Nolan Ivens, born July 16, 1926, went to be with his Lord and Savior January, 12, 2017. Nolan was born in Sparks, Oklahoma to Francis and Dollie Ivens. He was proudly married to Mary Jo Ivens for 65 years. Mary Jo passed away in 2014.
Nolan is survived by two children, daughter Susie Peckinpaugh and husband John; son, Max Ivens and his wife Susan. Other survivors include grandchildren Jason Scott Smith and wife Cristy, Ronald Nolan Ivens and wife Cheryl, Kelcey Leigh Davis and husband Robbie. Nolan was proud to be a great grandfather to 5 children, Cason Ryan Smith, Triston Brady Smith, Mallory Brooke Davis, Ashlyn Bree Davis, and William Reece Nolan Ivens. He is also survived by four sisters, Ramona Karakas, Norma Davis, Patsy Bennett and Scharleene Sheley. He was preceded in death by another sister Lorene Baser.
Nolan served in the United States Army stationed in Germany for almost 2 years. He and Mary Jo moved to Texas in 1955. He worked for JC Penney’s as a manager for 20 years before opening his own men’s clothing store in 1972. Nolan’s Menswear continues to operate after 44 years.
He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Pasadena for 55 years, serving in different capacities. Nolan was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather. Nolan was an avid runner for many years. He loved being with his family, watching the OU Sooners, Texans, and Cowboys play football, and reading his Bible. He loved going to church and loved his church family. Nolan will be missed and loved forever.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nolan’s honor to First Baptist Church of Pasadena building fund.
There will be a visitation on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 10:00 am with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Pasadena, 7500 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, Texas 77505, with Dr. Charles Redmond and Dr. Jon Redmond officiating. Burial will follow at Grand View Memorial Park, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas 77505.
