On December 23, 2021, Roxy Mae Vann ended her battle with Alzheimer’s and went home to rest with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She passed away Thursday morning in Weimar, TX with her loving husband of 34 years by her side.
Born July 12, 1948, at Heights Hospital in Houston, TX to Harry Kassen (Kasey) and Arline Jones, Roxy filled many roles and held many titles throughout her 73 years…a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, an aunt, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, and a friend to so many.
She married David Vann on July 12, 1990, forming a blended family of three daughters, Kindra, Sami, & Laci, and one son, David. Together, Roxy and David enjoyed countless adventures and good times with friends and family including horseback riding, trail rides, dancing, boating, jet-skiing, and camping. Roxy had a passion and gift for cooking, and was always happy to set out an extra plate when friends and family dropped by to visit. Roxy retired in 2007 from Southwestern Bell following a fulfilling twenty-nine-year career.
Roxy is survived by her husband, David Vann, preceded in death by her father Kasey Jones, and survived by her mother Arline Jones, sister Barbara Clayton, her children, Kindra Smith and Clint Castellow, David and Andrea Smith, Sami Crowley, and Laci Thompson, grandchildren, Jamie and Holli Smith, Dillon Smith, Dalton Smith, Joseph Church, Ella Church, Heston Smith, Kaylen Crowley, Cadence Crowley, Colton Vann, Jaxon Soper, and Gauge Thompson, and great grandchildren Owen Smith and Lulah Smith.
