She married the love of her life Carl L. Nolen on June 2, 1945 and had three children, Leslie Carole, Linda Karen, and Brenda Joyce. Throughout her life, her passion and deepest love was for her family. She relished the time she got to spend with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. They were the light of her life.
Ruby worked in the service industry for many years at both Shell Oil in Deer Park and at Kellogg Brown & Root in Houston, Texas. She formed many friendships along the way and enjoyed her job so much she didn’t retire until she was 72. Not only did she love people, but she also adored her cat CJ. He was a fat, happy cat who demanded treats, and Ruby was always happy to comply. Her family would often remark that the cat was her favorite out of everyone.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl and daughter, Carole. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Linda and John Peterson, and daughter Brenda Cumming. She is also survived by her grand and great grandchildren Carl Bender and his children Jonathan, Brandon and Patrick, David Bender and wife Janea and their children Hayden and Jordan, Angela Terrell and husband Eric, Kelli Wheeland and husband Brent and their children Brilee, Charlsey, and Ayden, and Lacy Wilson and husband Justen and their children Tatiana, and AnnaLace.
