

Steve was born on March 10, 1954 to Harrel and Annetta Kesterson in Pasadena, Texas. He lived in Texarkana, Texas when he was a young boy before settling with his family in Deer Park. He attended Deer Park High School and enjoyed Varsity Football, auto mechanics, and Junior League. After finishing high school, he attended Northwood Institute in Dallas majoring in business studies. He then joined the family business at Kesterson Motor Co. Steve worked in many capacities and was loved everywhere he went. His greatest blessing in life was the arrival of his two beautiful daughters Katie and Stevie.
People were drawn to Steve. He was described as a jolly spirit, humorous with a quick wit, dependable, teller of jokes and stories, a trivia wiz and a sports enthusiast; especially with his Houston Astros. Steve was also a caring and giving man. He never turned his back to anyone in need. Throughout his life he was a member of the Lion’s Club and a long–time member of the Deer Park Masonic Lodge #1362.
Family was always important to Steve. He loved spending quality time with his grandchildren. Steve was happiest at family gatherings playing poker with his brother, nieces and nephew. He enjoyed spending time with his daughters whether it was playing dirty dog with Stevie or watching old westerns with Katie. He took joy in the time he spent with extended family including numerous cousins and friends he considered family.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents Harrel and Annetta Kesterson. He is survived by his daughters Katherine Kesterson Sasso (Tony) and Stephanie Marie Kesterson (Justin), and two step-sons Kenny and Christopher Sharpless. His brother David Kesterson and his wife Rhonda. He had three grandchildren whom he loved dearly; Alexis, Haylie and Michael. Steve had two nieces and a nephew, Lauren Garcia, Erica Kesterson, and Chase Kesterson.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for November 5, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at San Jacinto Church, 310 W P St., Deer Park, Texas 77536.
