Virgil Dee Forehand

Virgil Dee Forehand passed away on January 18, 2011 in Houston, TX at the age of 96. He was born on November 6, 1914 in Florence, TX to the union of Charley and Sarah Forehand who preceded him in death. Virgil is also preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Lillie Belle Forehand; sons, Leon Forehand and Bobby Forehand; grandson, Rocky Forehand; and granddaughter, Angela Forehand; brothers, Cecil and George Forehand; sisters, Eunice Preece and Myrtle Forehand. He is survived by son, Larry Forehand and wife Kristi; son, Roger Forehand and wife Mendy; 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 1 expected great grandchild; and 2 expected great great grandchildren.

Virgil grew up in central Texas and has been a resident of Pasadena for 67 years. He was a proud lifelong member of the Iron Workers Local Union 84, and his work with the union took him to many destinations throughout his career. Virgil was also a Master Mason for more than 50 years at Lodge #1155.

The family will receive friends for visitation between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 21, 2011 at Grand View Funeral Home. A celebration of Virgil’s life will take place in The Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2011 with interment to follow in Grand View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Houston Hospice 1905 Holcombe Blvd. Houston, TX 77030.
