She was married to Ray Hand for 56 years. Von had a career for Deer Park ISD as an elementary cafeteria worker. She was a member of South Avenue Baptist Church. In her free time Von enjoyed going to the movies, watching the Hallmark channel, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ray Hand, son Dale Hand, grandson Dale Ray Hand II, two brothers Orval Edmond and Oliver Edmond, and sister Janell Walker.
Left to cherish Von’s memory are her son Carl Hand and wife Connie, three granddaughters, Tiffany and husband Scott Green, Stacy Hand and friend Chris Ray, Kristie and husband Javier Rodriguez, adopted daughter Holly and husband Buddy Odom, adopted grandchildren Fallon and Jared Guidry, and great-grandchildren Kayle, Tyler, Raegan, Abigail, Janessa, Emily, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends for visitation Thursday, March 17 from 12:00-2:00PM in the Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home located at 8501 Spencer Highway Pasadena, Texas. A Celebration of Von’s life will begin at 2:00PM. Immediately following she will be laid to rest at Grand View Memorial Park.
