Alonzo Romeo Perez

Alonzo Romeo Perez, 79, left to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center in Edinburg. He was born to Federico V. & Diamantina Perez on May 2, 1939 in Falfurrias. Alonzo was a graduate of Edinburg High School class of 1958. He honorably served in the Navy, Army and was a part of the Texas National Guard. Alonzo had a passion for sports and was a member of the Texas Assocation of Sports Officials for more than 20 years. He is now reunited with his parents: Federico V. and Diamantina Perez and sisters, Lucinda Garza and Bennie Perez. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Virginia Perez; ex-wives: Melva Schulz and Elva Davila. His children: Susan Marie Guzman, Alonzo Romeo Perez Jr., Michael Anthony Perez, Lillian Ann Cano and Jesica Daniel Perez. He will also be greatly missed by grandchildren: Jackie, Alyssa Perez, Jessica, Al Perez III, Joshua, Jacob, Justin, Christian, Bobby, Alissa Ann Cano, Ricardo Daniel Cano, Aaron Perez, Robby Peacock and numerous great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends Sunday, February 24, 2019 from 12 pm to 10 pm with a rosary recited at 7 pm at Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am, Monday, February 25, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Military Honors will be conducted by the VFW Post 7473 of Elsa. Interment will follow at El Rucio Ranch Cemetery in San Manuel. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley of Pharr.
