at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. She was born to Arturo & Cristina Castañeda Aguirre on May 23, 1958 in Districto Federal, Mexico. Carolina was passionate about her work and helping others. She enjoyed shopping, fashion, decorating and cooking. Her sons and grandchildren,
who referred to her as “Gra-Gra”, were her pride and joy. Left to cherish her memory is her
loving husband of 37 years, Rodolfo Avila and their children: Rodolfo (Dora Velasco) Avila Jr.
and Carlos Enrique Avila. She will also be greatly missed by her grandchildren: Emma Cristina
Avila, Aaliyah Cristina Avila; siblings: Luis Eduardo Castañeda, Jorge Arturo Castañeda and Gabriela Elena Castañeda-Diggs. Cared for by her loving neighbor, Ivette Marie Jaramillo, lovingly referred to her as her angel. Family will receive friends Monday, October 22, 2018 from 1 pm to 9 pm with a rosary
recited at 7 pm at Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr. Funeral Mass will be celebrated
at 1 pm, Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at St Jude Catholic Church in Pharr.
Cremation services will follow. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of
Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley of Pharr.
