Floyd was born on July 5, 1950 in Kellogg, Idaho to Floyd and Helen Culver.
Fred had wonderful memories of his childhood and often spoke of being taught in a one room school.
Fred's first job was as a "stripper" in the mines. He continued to work in the mining industry throughout his life in Idaho, Montana, and Missouri.
In 1968 Fred enlisted in the U.S. Navy under the buddy program with his friend Roy Reel. Fred served active duty for eight years, and continued as an active reservist for an additional sixteen years.
In retirement, Fred and Ruth, his wife of 45 years, moved to Pharr, Texas. He enjoyed the weather and spent countless hours at the club house doing puzzles, which was one of his passions. He was a "ham" and sincerely enjoyed the parks drama club.
He made us laugh at him and with him. He will long be remembered for his cocky smile and his swim trunk malfunction.
Fred is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Ruth, son Seth, daughters Wendy (Bob) and Heather (Jim), grandchildren Jessica, Justin, Derrick, and great grandchildren, his brother Richard and sister Monica.
Fred will be entered at a later date in Kellogg, Idaho next to his parents.
The family would like to express our sincere thanks to the many friends and neighbors who supported us. To Gentiva Hospice for making his final day comfortable and for his supporting his wife and family.
Blessings to all who enriched his life with your presence as he did to ours.
Services are under the direction of Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr, Texas.
