Guillermo Tamez Sr.

Guillermo Tamez, 77, of McAllen, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026. He was born on January 24, 1949, in Penitas, Texas. A kind-hearted, generous, and compassionate man, Guillermo will be remembered for his warm humor, selflessness, and the deep love he shared with his family and friends.

Guillermo had a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. He loved classic music and often spent time playing his guitar. He enjoyed his coffee and cigaritos, and while he was a private man, those closest to him knew his gentle spirit and thoughtful nature. He especially cherished time with his grandchildren, taking pride in teaching them and sharing his wisdom in his own quiet way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisca Segovia and Jose Tamez.

Guillermo is survived by his beloved wife, Rosa Nelly Tamez; his five children, Michael (Bernadette) Tamez, Guillermo (Lily) Tamez Jr., Veronica Tamez, Leonardo Tamez, and Cristobal Tamez; his cherished grandchildren; his siblings, Jose, Lupe, Gonzalo, Gloria, Marisol, and Elvia Tamez; as well as many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be held on April 6, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley, 4607 North Sugar Road, Pharr, Texas 78577.

A Catholic service will take place that same evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Guillermo’s life was a quiet example of love, strength, and dedication to family. He will be remembered with deep respect, gratitude, and enduring love.

Funeral services are under the direction of Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr.
