

Born on May 30, 1937, in General Terán, Nuevo León, Mexico, Hector was the son of the late María Dolores Salinas and Guadalupe Chapa. He was a longtime resident of Pharr, Texas. Hector was a compassionate, hardworking, and kind-hearted man who touched the lives of many through his selfless and brave nature.
His family was his world. He dedicated his life to providing for and caring for his beloved wife and children. The light of his eyes was his grandchildren, and his traditional values and strong faith will live on through generations to come. Hector will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his loving family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of kindness, faith, and dedication will remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rebeca Chapa; and his sons, Hector Chapa Jr. and Sixto Chapa.
Mr. Chapa is survived by his loving children: Ruben (Diamantina) Chapa, Dolores (Fernando) Gomez, George (Imelda) Chapa, David (Anita) Chapa, and Mary (Armando) Bravo; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley, located at 4607 North Sugar Road, Pharr, Texas, on Monday, January 26, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.
A Catholic service will be held at Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens, 4607 North Sugar Road, Pharr, Texas 78577.
Funeral services are under the direction of Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr.
