

Maria was born to the late Jose R. Castro and Maria G. Castro, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Robert Robles; her children Sandra Robles Rodriguez (Hector Rodriguez), Robert Robles Jr., and Rebecca Robles (Rene Ayala); as well as her 11 cherished grandchildren and 3 precious great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Bernal.
Maria dedicated over three decades of her life in service to the community through her work with the Texas Department of Human Services and the Texas Workforce Commission. Her compassion, strength, and unwavering dedication touched the lives of many.
Outside of her professional life, Maria was known for her warmth and her love of family traditions. She found great joy in preparing large family meals—Thanksgiving being one of her favorite times to bring everyone together. She also loved to bake, cross-stitch, and tend to her garden. Her happiest moments were spent surrounded by her grandchildren, sharing stories, laughter, and unconditional love.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley, 4607 North Sugar Road, Pharr, Texas 78577. A funeral mass will take place on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 12:00 pm at St. Anne Catholic Church in Pharr, followed by a burial at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens at 1:00 PM.
Maria leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and strength. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
