PHARR- Martin Anaya, 97, left to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. He was born to Felipe and Avelina Anaya on November 11, 1919 in General Bravo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Elvira Anaya and their children; Maria de los Angeles (Eladio) Garza, Delia (Pedro) Estrada, Aurora (Arnoldo) Chapa, †Martin (Maria) Anaya, Jr., Lupita (Jorge) Garcia and Adelaido (Claudia) Anaya. He will also be greatly missed by his sisters; Elvira Anaya, Cristela Anaya and Manuela Anaya; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-granchildren; 11 great-great-granchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 5 pm to 9 pm with a rosary recited at 7 pm at Palm Valley Funeral Home in Pharr. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 pm, Friday, June 2, 2017 at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow to Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palm Valley Funeral Home in Pharr.
