Pedro was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Pedro will be remembered as a very exceptional person. To his family, was an amazing husband, dedicated father, and wonderful grandfather. He met the love of his life, Diana in communion in Aurora, IL and at the age of 19 they began their family. Together they were blessed to celebrate 33 wedding anniversaries and have 3 daughters, and 5 grandchildren.
Pedro enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. His favorite pursuits were fishing, cooking, and spending time with his dear family. Pedro also had a relentless passion for children and coached softball, tee ball and baseball to youths from various city programs. He was content to enjoy his favorite pastimes alone but loved to share his interests with others especially grilling. Many will vouch that Pedro was the life of the party.
Pedro was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite events whenever he had the chance to do so. Tops on his list were watching the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.
Simply stated, Pedro was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Pedro will continue to shine in the hearts of his family and friends. He leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories.
Pedro is survived by his wife, Diana Mendiola; daughters Marissa Mendiola, Brianna Leathers (Michael); and Julissa Mendiola (Charles Ybarra); five grandchildren, Kayla, Devin, Zoey, Miles and Noah; four siblings, Guadalupe Trevino, Juanita Hernandez, and John Herrera(Patti) and numerous extended family and friends left to cherish his memory. Pete held a special place in his heart for his brother-in-law, Narciso "Chicho" Trevino who was like his father and introduced him to his passion for cooking.
Pedro was preceded in death by mother Maria Estefana Botello and brother, Jacinto Mendiola.
