

PHARR- On August 18, 2020, Raul Margarito "Mague" Casares was called home by the Lord and was reunited with the love of his life, Maria Gloria Casares, who went to the Lord's Kingdom on June 19, 2019.
Mague was born in Pharr, Texas to Rosa Guzman and Margarito Casares on March 17, 1938. He had a passion for music, playing the accordion, and football, especially the Dallas Cowboys. He was also well known for his great sense of humor.
Preceding him in death are, his loving and caring wife of 62 years, father and mother, three sisters Magdalena Casares Trevino, Hortencia Casares, Catarina Oefinger, and a brother Armando Ramirez.
He is survived by his six beloved children, Melinda (Leandro) Silva, Diana (Roy) Mancha, Nelda (Mauro) Sandoval, Raul M. Casares, Jr. (Lynn Birdwell), Roel E. Casares and Melissa A. Casares (Omar Cantu). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Nicholas (Maria) Silva, Anthony Silva, Jennifer Mancha, Kristina Mancha, Andrea Casares, Edward Casares, Layla Casares; 4 great grandchildren, Ethan Barrera, Alexia and Caleb Segura, Haley Casares; siblings Alonzo Ramirez, Esperanza Gonzalez, and Juanita Puga.
Serving as Pallbearers: Raul M. Casares Jr, Nicholas Silva, Leandro Silva, Roy Mancha, Mauro Sandoval, and Omar Cantu. Honorary Pallbearer: Tony Torres.
The family would like to give special thanks to their cousin, Adalberto "Bert" Jamie Jr, for graciously accepting to officiate the prayer services.
Due to the current pandemic, private Funeral Services will be held for immediate family on Thursday, August 27, 2020. Burial will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Garden.
Funeral services are under the direction of Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr.
