Rigoberto Garcia

CHICAGO, IL/PHARR - Rigoberto Garcia, 72 passed on to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago. Rigoberto Garcia was born in Reynosa, Tamaulipas and reared in Pharr, TX. He attended PSJA Pharr San Juan Alamo schools. He moved to Chicago in 1966 and remained there till the present. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vicente Garcia Alaniz from Goliad, Texas; his mother Trinidad Tijerina from Reynosa, Tamaulipas; his oldest sister, Guadalupe Francisca Garza from Houston, TX; one niece, Felipa Garcia from Pharr, Texas and one nephew, Juan Miguel Garcia from Chicago. He is survived by three sisters and three brothers: Vicente Jesus Garcia and Maria Villareal from Mission, Texas, San Juana Loredo, Juan E. Garcia, and Gorgonio Villareal from Houston, Texas, and Alicia V. Calzada of Pharr, Texas. He is also survived by one son, Robert García of Chicago and 26 nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 1-9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Palm Valley Funeral Home in Pharr. Funeral Service will be held Monday, December 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Burial will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palm Valley Funeral Home of Pharr.
